This is a really good write up of the problem. For me the issue isn't even about having to charge the consumer tax as a marketplace seller that uses FBA. It's the logistical overhead of registering, tracking, and paying sales tax 40+ different ways 4x per year. This essentially makes it impossible for smaller sellers to compete.
