Wait, is Philly considered Midwestern, not East Coast?
- QAPereo 9y agoIt's definitely East Coast.
- rayiner 9y agoI mentioned Philly and Baltimore because although they’re on the east coast, they are port cities that suffiered along with the decline of the rust belt and never recovered. Philly is one of the poorest large cities in the US, but used to be very rich.
- santaclaus 9y agoI've never heard Philly as considered Midwest. Northeast for sure [1]. [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northeast_megalopolis https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northeast_megalopolis
- SauciestGNU 9y agoNot Midwestern, but Rust Belt.
- eli_gottlieb 9y agoMost of the East Coast, once you get far from the largest metros, is actually Rust Belt. The entire canal system running from Chicago to New York was once shipping and manufacturing, so was New Jersey, so were parts of New England, Pittsburgh was steel, etc.
- mcguire 9y agoBy Midwesterners or East Coastites?
