Like saying a fire that destroyed your house was beneficial because it dealt with all those pesky fire hazards you hadn't been aware of/addressed yet. The best you can say is that at least it prevented anyone else from moving in unawares and dying in the fire. But it's still a total loss for anyone who already lived there.
