Really? I've found whisky unique in regards that its price correlate with quality quite uniformly as opposed to majority of other products (wine and cheese comes to mind first). At least to the medium price range (~500$), can't comment about high end whisky as I haven't tried a bottle of 10000$ or similar[0].

- penetrarthur 9y ago500$ isn't medium price range and that is not a result of perception. You can buy a lot for under 500$, I'd say everything but the "exclusive" stuff.
- olympus 9y agoNo, price correlates with the number of "features" that a wisky has- brand prestige, single barrel, single-malt (not a blend, but possibly multiple barrels), aging time, etc. Taste is subjective, and I find that Hibiki Harmony is supremely drinkable- there's no need to optmize the experience like with an expensive scotch- just pour it and enjoy. It also helps that it doesn't hurt my wallet to share it, so I drink it with friends more.
