There's probably already a phrase for this, but I wonder how much of this is due to powerful machines making more room for bad programmers? This guy is beating

There's probably already a phrase for this, but I wonder how much of this is due to powerful machines making more room for bad programmers? This guy is beating on GUIs, but I'm not sure that's the problem. I've used rock-solid GUIs on machines that ran @1MHz with less than 1MB of RAM that absolutely screamed performance and were a joy to work with.
