Coffeescript isn't part of Rails anymore.
- steveklabnik 9y agoI thought this was true, but I just generated a new app with Rails 5.1 and it still included coffee-rails by default. Maybe that's coming in 5.2? Still quite easy to pull out.
- bpicolo 9y agoIt's `rails new myapp --webpack` in 5.1+ that should kill coffeescript I believe. True that the default install is still coffee
- steveklabnik 9y agoEven with --webpack I still have coffee-rails; it just also adds the 'webpacker' gem. Psyched to see Rails adding native webpack support though.
- bpicolo 9y agoAh, gotcha.
