    I was about to sign up with my google account, but the app requested permission to allow beeminder to .. view my email messages and settings. Is that a mistake?

      It's because of our gmailzero.com integration where you can mind your Gmail inbox. But, yes, it's super dumb that we don't separate out those permissions and are freaking people out by asking for them just to sign up... Thanks so much for pointing this out!
