I have not read the article but let met give a reality check. Innovation has stopped around Mysql 5.0 which supported binary logs and multi master replication. What features have actually been developed after this version that is useful? Json?
- VintageCool 9y agoMultithreaded replication in 5.6, row based replication in 5.1, performance schema
- fipar 9y agoBinary logs were introduced on 3.23. I'm not sure what you mean by multi master replication. If it's support for a single replica to receive events from more than one master at the same time, that was introduced on 5.7 on MySQL while MariaDB introduced its own, different implementation before that, on 10.0.1. If it's the possibility of setting up two nodes as co masters in circular replication, you could do that on 3.23 too. A lot was done on MySQL after 5.0, like GTID, for example. You can see list of all that was introduced on 5.7 alone here: http://www.thecompletelistoffeatures.com http://www.thecompletelistoffeatures.com
