I faced that problem too and then realized that you don't need any special support for that (at least if your case is not very complicated), in our project we just use URL kwargs for a viewset like this: `/users/(?P<model_pk>[0-9]+)/comments/` and then just get the required object in `def get_queryset` or throw a 404.
