Does anyone know how the legal rights to dig actually work? It seems like he's moving really fast.... I would have expected the permitting, and rights process would have taken years.

- brad0 9y agoI know that the rights came quite quickly. I know the hole starts near one of the Tesla buildings, I believe that would help quite a lot.
- planteen 9y agoA tunnel would be different from subsurface mineral rights. I'm also interested to know if this is in a right-of-way or Musk is buying rights from individual landowners. My guess is right of way.
