Amsterdam's bike-friendliness is at best average compared to the rest of the Netherlands :)

  As a dutch person: Amsterdam is, in my opinion, a scary place to ride your bike. It's far too busy and people seem to care more about overtaking you than about safety. I can't imagine what other countries must be like if this is the pinnacle of cycling :P
