I’ve been viewing tests as writing the logic twice. That might sound like a waste but it’s kinda like a form asking you to type your new password twice; you may make a mistake the first time, but making the same mistake twice has much lower odds. And really, we’re playing a probability game with ourselves, trying to reduce the probability of typing the wrong thing. Writing it twice is one way to do that.
