I just sold my Kindle DX, and while I really liked it I find having a single unified device much more convenient. I tried to read my iPad on a beach and it sucked, but frankly, I do most of my readings in bed, on planes or indoors. Reading on the Kindle is definitely easier on the eyes, but the iPad handles technical books much better, even with the Kindle PDF support.
