Even for people who know the word "crustacean", it's not clear how to say it. The cleverness of the pun doesn't make it more universal. I'd guess "Pythonista" or "gopher" are much better in that regard because they are almost obvious to pronounce in other languages using the Latin alphaber. They are only one "th" or "ph" away from regular German, for example.
