Because they were pointless.
The first time I saw them I thought to myself, well that's a cool idea but that was it.
It truly felt like marketing or some attempt to trick people into believing Snap could make cool things... like a response to Facebook/Oculus.

Just not at that price (130GBP) because I will probably not be using them a lot. But if there is a promotion around Christmas why not.
