Ask HN: What is the best way to learn Data structures and algorithms?

I am swarmed with resources like books and websites but there is dearth in advice of learning methodology. There is an overwhelming confusion. The best practices though, are uncommon. What advice would you give to me as a beginner as if you wish somebody told you when you started your algorithms journey? Obviously, each person learns differently and I want to collate and experiment through your responses on what works for me.
