Weird, in all my decades of project management, I've never come across the term 'bikeshedding' before, but it is the perfect explanation for the syndrome I have seen hundreds of times in the past. Must be a US colloquial term that is not in wide use here in Australia maybe? Anyhow, thanks for expanding my urban vocabulary dictionary this morning.
