Yes, I could emigrate. That doesn't solve the problem I see with the region.

  Extrapolate what the region looks like when everybody who can relocate elsewhere and get a better quality of life has done so.

    It looks pretty much the same, in my estimation. The service industry employees remain to serve the retirees. The children of those employees continue to attend overcrowded schools.

      Why do the service industry employees remain, if their kids can't go to good schools?

        Because it costs a lot of money to to move, and poor people (service employees) don’t have that money.
