Samsung 960 Evo is great. If you can spring for the pro you will get better reliability, though both are quite reliable for non-enterprise use. I have a 512GB 950pro and it's a beast. You might be better getting a larger, less expensive ssd for "overflow" and keeping the 950pro for OS and applications - it's still a very good performing drive.
