I keep meaning to blog this, but here it how I "outsource" my design. I found a quality designer who is $75 an hour, he does great work and all I ask for from him is a PSD. This is the easiest thing for a designer to create and keeps his time to a minimum. Then I pay a freelancer to turn that into HTML and CSS for about $100-$150 per site, there are lots of people who do this. I use madmarkup (http://madmarkup.com/ http://madmarkup.com/) because, well, it's my sister. :)
So what do the results look like? Here you go:

http://zerkmedia.com http://zerkmedia.com
http://infozerk.com http://infozerk.com

Most of these sites took between 5-15 hours of my designers time, the logos were a separate expense. I am now using my designer to design the internals of my application, we do a couple pages at a time and it has gone really well. I think it's the next best option to having a designer on the staff full-time.
- leftnode 16y agoWho is your designer? I would certainly like to hire them for some work.
