Yup, and then you lose me to some other site. The two things that annoy me the most having the page change layout as it loads (often causing me to click on something different than I was aiming at) and lack of responsiveness. Having the UI baked into an environment that was never designed for it makes the apps anemic and slow. Google is the worst at this, where they take perfectly fine and usable desktop app (say Picassa) and then replace it with some janky, feature deficient, "web app."
