In the meantime however anyone who wants to use Linux on their phone today should check out https://ubports.com/ https://ubports.com/
It works now!
- kagamine 9y agoI followed the link, but don't quite understand the product. Does Ubuntu Touch OnePlusOne replace the OS on the device? So I buy one of the supported phones listed, and then erase and replace Android with this in it's place? Or it installs on top of?
- padraic7a 9y agoIt replaces the OS, so you will lose everything you currently have on the phone. The installation process is similar to flashing a ROM and you can choose to reflash and move back to Android in the future.
- kagamine 9y agoActually sounds good. I'm tired of Apple devices going in a direction that doesn't fit with what I want, and have never been impressed with Android.
- eat_veggies 9y agoDoes it still maintain phone functionality (sms, calling, data)?
- padraic7a 9y agoYep.
