Sorry for being obtuse, but doesn't Python do the same thing? I just tried in ipython y = 2 def mult(x): return x * y mult(6) # returns 12

Sorry for being obtuse, but doesn't Python do the same thing? I just tried in ipython

def mult(x):
return x * y
mult(6) # returns 12
