- narvind 9y agoYes, if you observer the system, it gets disturbed. It's like opening Schrodinger's box to see the cat.
- arekkas 9y agoIntegrity on steroids!
- deusum 9y agoI found this video on quantum mechanics helpful. If you measure the qubit prematurely the function collapses. In classical computing it might be analogous to breaking out of a for loop before it has run its intended course and then you're left with an incorrect (or incomplete) answer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7bzE1E5PMY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7bzE1E5PMY
- teraflop 9y ago"Observation" in the quantum-mechanical sense, i.e. "interaction with the state of the outside world".
- naasking 9y agoMeasurement requires interaction with the system, and interaction with the system breaks entanglement.
- smaddox 9y agoOr, more precisely, alters entanglement in an unkown way. Since the alteration is unkown, it interferes with execution and interpretation of the quantum algorithm.
