I got the below Org syntax to work so far.. You can try by copying the test file I have so far ( https://raw.githubusercontent.com/kaushalmodi/writing-org/master/test.org https://raw.githubusercontent.com/kaushalmodi/writing-org/ma... ) and pasting in the above live site.
Pasting the same below just for reference.

only after an empty line.
This will be a new paragraph.
* List syntax is the same as Markdown
