In a word: regulation. But I know for many capitalists, regulation is a four letter word that is considered a direct attack on their livelihood.
Should we regulate behavior targeting? Data collection? Advertising nature and reach?
- manigandham 9y agoNobody has a problem with regulation, we all want a better life for ourselves and our families. The problem is bad regulation, often by politicians without experience or knowledge while operating on favors and donations against the greater good. Europe in general has led the way with privacy and data rights and we're starting to see similar movements in the US now to fix some of the major problems.
- beager 9y agoYes, any regulations that make things better for someone's interests will be seen as good regulation. You personally would probably perceive the same for EU privacy and data rights, but would large companies that profit off of data collection and manipulation feel the same way?
- manigandham 9y agoObviously not, but change is inevitable. Regulation actually tends to create new opportunities for products and services. Some companies that might be impacted will fall into the endless example of those who resist change and fight valiantly to preserve their way of live, but eventually they'll either adapt or die off.
