Rather than managing a PKI for your JOSE (and all the revocation headache that comes with that), why not just go with JSON Web Keys (https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7517 https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7517) and rely on your Web PKI for safe delivery of public keys?
