I don't know if it's meant as a joke, but isn't it usually known as ES6 or ECMAScript 2015? And people quarrel over which to use?

- dlbucci 9y agoI think ES and ECMAScript are pretty interchangeable, as are 6 and 2015 (the latter is official, but the former is what it was called for forever). I've seen all 4 of those names used.
- mzzter 9y agoI don’t think it’s a joke, but I haven’t seen ECMAScript much in practice, just es6 and es2015 in npm. Full “ECMAScript” seems more common for clarity in proposals.
- irrational 9y agoES2015 is pretty common in my experience. I don't recall seeing ECMAScript very often. ES6 or ES2015 seem to be the most common.
