The problem is not that everything is shit, but that everyone just points at it, and expects other people to fix it. There are mutliple efforts to design and create a 'better'future for computing, in operating systems, but also in hardware areas, people desining new CPUs which are open and well documented etc. If you want things to change, invest time and effort into such projects, or start on of your own. Be the change!
