I used to tell people not to comment their code. Mostly as a reaction to articles stating that you should document your code down to every line. "The code should be readable enough to make it clear what goes on", I would say. Now I just seem to write comments where the reasoning isn't obvious. Which is often, but not that often. And they can be of all the kinds described in this article.
