The Human Stain: Why the Harvey Weinstein Story Is Worse Than You Think
- deanCommie 9y ago> A journalist once told me about visiting another very famous Hollywood producer—you’d know the name—who exhibited for my friend his collection of photographs of famous female actresses—you’d know their names, too—performing sexual acts for his private viewing. As with Weinstein, this man’s chief thrill was humiliation, and the more famous the target the more roundly it was savored: Even her, a big star—these people will do anything to land a role; they’re so awful, they’ll even do it for me. So, name and shame. Otherwise, aren't both you and the journalist you're referencing just as culpable as all the other journalists you are pointing the finger at for protecteing Weinstein all this time?
- throwawaymanbot 9y agoI read this for a second then realized its THE weekly standard, which is a Conservative rag. The Last paragraph of course by design, implicates arch bogeymen, Obama, Hilary and Bill Clinton in Weinsteins life choices, even though Weinstein is a big boy who did this to Women all by himself. The weekly standard of course, put their support behind our current president, who as you know.. also has is own issues with females. But hes cool I guess coz hes the GOP candidate? This does not make Hollywood less disgusting, as much as it makes the weekly standard selective on their grievances and thus glaring hypocrites. Weinstein is deservedly getting his comeuppance. But the "Neo-Con Right" cant really say much for points on this. Cyrus Vance btw, famously has even stopped an investigation in to trump jr and ivanka.
