- rothbardrand 9y agoI would really suggest reading the release notes from the past two years of core development. Every release has included an optimization of one kind or another. They have been scaling all along, and Segwit is really a bundling of dozens, maybe hundreds of optimizations that needed a softfork, plus segwit itself.
