#2 was an error I had, and a co-worker told me screaming that I was a crappy programmer because I did it, now that I know it's optimized I feel like he owns me an apology or maybe not :-)
- yuvi 16y agoWere you using gcc? I wouldn't be surprised if e.g. MSVC didn't perform that optimization since it doesn't have the pure function attribute.
