This problem will haunt us forever if we don't take it seriously today. What does taking this seriously look like? Is there an effective model for "lobbying" the industry and specific companies in a meaningful way? As I am just descending down this particular rabbit hole, I don't have any answers yet. Perhaps exposing the worst examples of these biases, like in criminal sentencing algorithms, and other public verticals, we might begin drawing more attention to the urgent matter at hand.
