I wonder how the EPYC 7401P would compare with the 1950X in terms of performance/price? It has 24 cores v. 16, but with a lower clock speed, and is $51 more. If you can actually use all the cores, I suspect better?
- dman 9y agoYes for compiling that appears much better.
- philjohn 9y agoHow much more are the Mobo's though?
- infogulch 9y agoAnd do the motherboards support features that you would expect out of a consumer version? They often only have a couple usb and video out, with very few features.
- dis-sys 9y agothere are claims online that 7401p has a cinebench score of 4,200+, if such claim is true, then it is much faster than 1950x for cpu intensive embarrassingly parallel workloads. the problem is you can't easily buy a 7401, there is no video online verifying the claimed cinebench score is a pretty good example on how hard to get access to one.
