- egypturnash 9y agoThis is something web developers probably never think about - but a lady who keeps her nails moderately long is going to obscure an extra square half inch or so of screen when she taps the phone! Thinking about this also reminds me of the time I found a game controller I physically could not use, because the face buttons were nestled into a little recess. I could only press them about 10% of the way down before my thumbnail clicked against the housing.
- Rumudiez 9y agoIf you play the cello, violin, or even piano you'll find everyone and their mother telling you the same thing: cut your nails! Being able to arch your fingers naturally is an ergonomic advantage and will probably help with your typing, too.
- taternuts 9y agoI imagine for most women with long nails, it's an active tradeoff for aesthetics
- lbarrett 9y agoIf you play the classical guitar, you may receive different advice. Long nails can have practical uses.
- egypturnash 9y agoI'm pretty happy with typing with the ends of my nails rather than my fingertips, tbh. It feels super weird when I break one and have to use my fingertip for some keys.
