Ask HN: Is Peter Diamandis' Strike Force a Scam?

Hey guys, so long story short, I was selected to compete as a fellow for a position on the Peter Diamandis Strike Force, which is a pretty cool gig. He works on a lot of interesting stuff, you can check his wikipedia out here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Diamandis Where I'm hesitant is that the competition isn't merit based, but sales based! I'm supposed to sell his courses at a discount to other entrepreneurs, and it sits a little strangely with me that this is the case. Is this common practice, or should I simply not participate?
