So what is it there to save USA from dystopian future ? Is it social democracy a la western europe. I kinda doubt that. I do not think that is sustainable either. For it to work you need rich consumers (usa, china ) and extraction of wealth from the weaker beasts in the forest ( eastern europe, africa , asia ).
What could we do to have a fairer system for everyone ?
- spiderfarmer 9y agoAppoint leaders that have a strong sense of empathy and a great moral compass. Educate the youth on the benefits of sharing and caring. Use the tax system to redistribute wealth. Use the defense budget for diplomacy and education. Make a real effort to help grow the economy in third world countries.
- zlatan_todoric 9y ago^ this! And only this. It is defense budget for crying out loud, not "lets attack every country our rich gods don't like because it doesn't accept their dark business".
- Ygg2 9y agoDefense budget is 16.5%, Health is 28% and Social security is 25.3%. Source: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2015/aug/17/facebook-posts/pie-chart-federal-spending-circulating-internet-mi/ http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2015/aug/...

- TomMarius 9y agoI'm not aware of Swiss people being fond of money redistribution through taxes.
- Synaesthesia 9y agoFor me the ultimate goal would be democratization of industry, factories should be run by the people who work in them, and all major institutions like banking should be nationalized.
- charlesism 9y agoIt wouldn't hurt if America had a better school system and had incentives to travel more. Quite a lot would follow from that.
