It's using the magic of Google Slides if you can believe it. They have a lot of nice information modeling shapes.

Sentence 2 on the front page: "It is intended to be an example or boilerplate to help you structure your projects using production-ready technologies." He could have used less tech, but then the project wouldn't have served it's purpose.

  Assuming that boilerplate is indeed necessary. Many comments point out exactly that: this very page shows that the boilerplate for a really fast page is just the opened and closed html tag.
