So thats enough for all of Puerto Rico right there?
- mbrumlow 9y agoI have my doubts about the mayor of San Juan. Mostly because all the info I can find on her looks like a photo opt for the "Most Interesting Woman in the world". I think the one that did it for me was her wading through water with a bull horn "looking for people" when a photo was clearly taken with a professional grade camera from a boat. That being said the photo shows that somebody has helped and is not likely a good place for a photo saying nobody is helping. Just getting through Harvey my self I can say one thing for sure. The desperate are quick to blame others for the situation they are in, even though some times there is just simply nobody to blame. This was very apparent with the release from 2 dams in the Houston area. You had one side of the dam demanding it be released faster and sooner, and the other side demanding it not be released till later and at a slower rate. The thing nobody realized it was all water that Harvey had dropped on Houston and it had to go some place, and it was going to flood somebody. Lots of people were blamed, yet none of them could really be responsible. It was just a culmination of years and years of bad politics and poor choice spending by the local and federal government (baring the EOC from this). I suspect this is what is happening now in Puerto Rico, with a added twist that support is going to have to take a boat to get their. Houston would have been a shit show had we not received so much non government help from locals bringing in supplies boats, and man power to rescue people -- not that our government did a bad job, it was just too big of a job.
