Software developer Bob outsources own job (2013)
- blackkettle 9y agoI love how they describe it as a 'scam', but this is exactly what corporations do all the time. He received a salary, and in return completed his work in a timely, efficient and apparently excellent fashion.

- panda88888 9y agoAgrees. Sounds like Bob is excellent at managing remote team(s). They should put him in charge of outsourcing to reduce development cost based on his excellent track record of cost savings and on-time, quality deliveries.

- british_india 9y agoThe story is a complete myth designed to make Americans look bad. Whenever there is some threat to outsourcing, this mythical story is trotted out by the proponents of outsourcing as a way to share a little chuckle between the internationals at what little children the Americans are. - pagnol 9y agoThe only thing that strikes me as odd about the story is that he's said to have been browsing Reddit and Facebook. Why would an intelligent individual like Bob not use the time to build his own company instead?
