Can't say I agree. Some of the most narrow-minded and ignorant people I have encountered have been much older than me. Age does not necessarily confer wisdom. I also don't agree with the you must respect your elders adage. Respect to is something you should apply to everyone until they give you a reason to do otherwise, but age in and of itself is not a reason to command respect.
