I think next time someone casually reiterates programmer stereotypes in conversation I will calmly assert they are being a bigot (and pick my battles, take context and social relations into account, etc). It sounds much more effective to just drop the B-word than to launch into a counter-effective "let me prove to you this is incorrect" conversation.
