If its just memorized without understanding, probably not. But I've been doing a bit of the leetcode/hackerrank challenges lately, and believe it or not, I actually think it has made me a bit better, by refreshing bits of knowledge that were getting stale, and really forcing me to think about performance (many test cases in the challenges will fail without the fastest implementations). And they are kind of fun.
