I'm a bit late to the thread, but I second this. I have most of my life workflow in org now, and while the learning curve was not the easiest it has been worth it. I particularly enjoy the export options, like latex to PDF, and combined with pandoc, I can go from org to just about any format. I'm currently trying to learn to use the time tracking functions better. Emacs really is an OS. Linux is just my (current) kernel.
