Perhaps also the fact that food is costing 1/5th over there in Romania has something to do with it, for the multinationals. There just isn't the same base profit to make there compared to, say France. And I hate to say it, but it's perhaps it's safe to assume, that the French have a higher culinary tradition then any of the ex Soviet countries, where people's cuisine was very rudimentary. Sure there are people shopping abroad, but it's a minority.
