Buyers do want significantly better quality, but phones are delivering only marginally better quality and marketing the hell out of it. I say this as someone who used and tested the 5s, 6, 6s Plus, 7 Plus, Nexus 5x and Google Pixel. Every year brings a marginal improvement. Unless you have a many year old phone, upgrading won’t produce noticeably better photos.
