RSS dumped into a feed reader (https://feedbin.com/ https://feedbin.com/) is what works best for me. I can quickly scan missed headlines, read what I'm interested in, star what I want to keep, and mark everything else as read. Reeder on iOS works extremely well for accessing the Feedbin account on mobile.
