I have been using the Hamster time tracking application for the past 5 years (Ubuntu/Gnome3). It works very nicely, you can export everything as XML and you can query the database with Python. I am using the XML export to generate static work logs for my customers and the Python bindings (dbus) to generate some special efficiency stats for me.
