I have tried to use it something like 2 years ago and just gave up in front of the poorly documented custom scripting language they used.
Has this changed? I think they were pondering switching to python or lua?
One of the main strength of its main competitor Unity is that it uses C# and the .Net framework. It comes with many usable tools from the whole C# ecosystem.

- juice_bus 9y agoIs 3.0 available in a pre-release state to any degree? I would like to try it out but don't really want to invest into a platform specific scripting language. Edit: Appears your link is essentially what I asked for above.

- Iv 9y agoOk I'll probably give it a try again after the 3.0 release. I really want an OSS alternative to unity!
- breadbox 9y agoThe documentation for GDscript is pretty thin, it's true. However, I think it has been improving, and that coupled with the tutorials created by other parties has helped me a lot in figuring out how to make things work.
